She chose to go out and do what she wanted,
Forgetting that she was carrying another life.
She didn\'t want it,
But she made the mistake of getting pregnant.
Figuring that the baby would be fine she did as she pleased,
Smoking, drinking, and partying all night long.
Never knowing the affects it could have.

Now she\'s crying herself to sleep,
Thinking of the mistake that she did.
Not only did she ruin her life,
But that of another as well.
Her child has to live with her mistake,
Her mistake of partying instead of taking care of herself for
only nine months.

She thinks in the back of her mind,
\'Why couldn\'t I stop for nine months?\'
\'Is my baby ever going to be ok?\'
Her child is addicted to drugs even before it\'s old enough to
know what they are,
All because of one stupid mistake she made.

Not only is she challenged with the fact of taking care of this child,
She has the risk of loosing it any day.
She could have stopped her fun for only nine months,
And she would have had better chance of a healthy baby.

Now the life she didn\'t care about is what she has to worry
about,
Nine months wouldn\'t have been long.
Yet young and stupid as we are,
We forget the simple little facts that we are suppose to know.
Hoping every day that her child will be fine,
Knowing as well it could be the last time she\'ll ever see them alive.
